Andre Kang was born in Taipei, Taiwan and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. In 1993 he moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico, to earn his telecommunications and photography degrees at the Sacred Heart University. In 1996 he was awarded an internship at the prestigious Puerto Rican newspaper El Nuevo Dia (www.endi.com). A year later, he became a staff photographer at the newly launched Primera Hora newspaper (www.primerahora.com) and has received numerous awards from the Puerto Rico Photojournalists Association, The Overseas Press Club, and the Puerto Rico Senate Mandin’s Award.
During his fifteen years at Primera Hora and five years at GFR Media, Kang has traveled abroad, covering a variety of news events such as

出生於台北，在聖多明各，多明尼加共和國長大。1993年搬到聖胡安，波多黎各，在聖心大學 ( Sacred Heart University ) 獲得電信美術及攝影學位並連續兩年（1994-1995年）獲得院長名單學術獎（Dean’s List）。1996年，在著名的波多黎各報紙 El Nuevo Dia 實習。 一年後在Primera Hora 及 El Nuevo Dia 報社工作，工作期間曾多次在波多黎各攝影記者協會，海外新聞俱樂部 ( The Overseas Press Club )， 和波多黎各參議院及眾議院獲獎。
在 Primera Ｈora 十五年及 GFR Media 五年的工作中，曾多次外派出國，參訪涵蓋了各種新聞事件，如：
